Carl J. Wiggers (1883–1963) was an eminent cardiovascular physiologist and was the 21st president of the American Physiological Society. He is the author of the Wiggers diagram, a diagram commonly used in the teaching of cardiovascular physiology. In 1953, he established Circulation Research, an academic journal dedicated to heart-related issues, which he edited for five years.
